"Acoustic Live" - Nils Lofgren (g, p, voc); Tom Lofgren (g, p, synth, voc); Michael Lofgren, Paul Bell (g, voc)

In 1997 the guitarist and singer-songwriter Nils Lofgren released a little treasure for his longtime fans. On "Acoustic Live" we hear Lofgren alone in front of a grateful audience with the interpretation of favorites like "You", "No Mercy" and "Keith Don't Go" as well as six new songs.

Despite the new material, there are no real revelations, just a selection of little gems that will put a smile on your face when you listen to them.

In addition to his work as a soloist, Lofgren can look back on more than 25 years with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band as well as former band membership with Crazy Horse and Grin.

Lofgren joined Neil Young's band in 1968 at the age of seventeen, where he played the piano on the record "After The Gold Rush". Lofgren maintained a close musical relationship with Young, playing on the album and the tour "Tonight's The Night" among others.

For a short period of time he was also a member of Crazy Horse, participated in their 1971 LP and contributed songs to their repertoire. From '71 to '74, Lofgren was active with Grin, the band he formed in 1969. Throughout the seventies, annual solo albums and tours followed, establishing Lofgren as a top guitarist and concert artist, earning the respect and praise of his colleagues.

Bruce Springsteen's call to Lofgren came in 1984 and he became a member of the E-Street Band for the "Born In The USA" tour. Springsteen's fans were immediately enthusiastic about Lofgren, both for his playing and for his dynamic stage personality. Lofgren is still a loyal member of the E-Street Band.

"Acoustic Live" is an interesting and delightful 1997 album by Nils Lofgren, following the unplugged tradition that became popular in the 1990s. The recording was made in The Barns Of Wolftrap, Vienna, Virginia State, on January 18, 1997"
