1992's Crescent Crawl is Bruce Katz's first album to appear under his own name. After many years as an accompanying musician for artists such as Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley, his piano and Hammond playing takes center stage here. Crescent Crawl combines blues and jazz; the instrumental album delivers lush grooves and interesting improvisations. Katz is accompanied by Marty Ballou (bass), Lorne Entress (drums), Bob Malach (tenor saxophone) and Kevin Barry (guitar)
