Diana Krall: The Girl In The Other Room (180g)
Label: Verve, 2004
Serie: Back To Black
The Girl in the Other Room is the seventh studio album by Canadian singer Diana Krall, released on March 31, 2004 on Verve Records. In addition to cover versions, it is Krall's first album to include original material written with her husband Elvis Costello
On the Verve Records website, Krall explains the songwriting for the album in more detail, "I wrote the music and then Elvis and I talked about what we wanted to say. I told him stories and wrote pages and pages of memories, descriptions and images, and he put them into a tighter lyrical form. For 'Departure Bay,' I wrote down a list of things I loved about home, things I realized were different, even exotic, now that I was gone."
In the last twenty years, her hot-cold voice and piano finesse have transformed her from a jazz tip to an international superstar with gold albums and sold-out concerts. Eight Diana Krall masterpieces, from intimate trio albums to swinging big band smashes, are now released in a 180gr vinyl edition to celebrate Verve's 60th birthday
For all Krall fans to rediscover on the turntable, for all newcomer vinyl fans to get to know for the first time, and for all together to drool over the beautiful large record cover: Diana Krall is unique in every respect. Read more
