His greatest film hits in a new sound:
For 60 years now, Ennio Morricone has been creating the right atmosphere in films with his compositions. His clients have always included the world's greatest directors and filmmakers.
In 2016, the Italian composer and conductor is presenting a very special musical career retrospective with "Morricone 60" to mark his anniversary.
This is not just a collection of his most important works. Instead, Morricone selected some of his pieces and re-recorded them with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
The track list speaks volumes: Among others, there are the theme "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" from the western of the same name, "Stage Coach To Red Rock" from the "The Hateful Eight" soundtrack, which only appeared in 2015, or the famous "The Man With The Harmonica" from "Once Upon A Time In The West".
In total 23 pieces made it to "Morricone 60". With the new version of "Nuovo" from the soundtrack to "Cinema Paradiso" there was even a first taste of the album.
In addition to the standard CD, "Morricone 60" is also available as a double LP and as a deluxe set with an additional DVD. This contains a previously unpublished documentary about the recordings of the "The Hateful Eight" soundtrack at the legendary London Abbey Road Studios.
The greatest hits of the legendary film composer on an album, completely reinterpreted. Both film and music lovers should be pleased about "Morricone 60".
