The giant slayer. Available in 9" and 10". Now in Series II

  • Improved Series II Model
  • Affordable super quick worldwide delivery
  • Now with 3 year warranty
  • Choose 9" or 10" arm length—no difference in price
  • Choose between round compact JIS-type mounting base or a sliding SME-type base. Or get both!

Slight discolorations and minor shape irregularities of the headshell and arm tube are possible. This is the nature of the ceramic material, not a defect.

Hey, what's the deal with the Series II? What changed?

We are always looking for ways to improve. Through three years of production, we have learned enough to take the performance of our tonearms to the next level. Here's what we have done:

  • Stainless steel vertical column, giving a more solid foundation to the whole tonearm
  • Steel vertical shaft for deeper and more defined bass
  • Internal redesign for even more rigidity
  • Simpler, cleaner, more premium look
  • Completely new azimuth adjustment mechanism for smoother setting
  • Warranty extended to 3 years now

I used this opportunity to completely rid the tonearm of all structural set screws. Now the only one left is the one holding the arm lift.

The Reviews Are In!

There's a beautifully photographed and written review of TA-AF9 in the German LP: Magazin, done by Holger Barske himself. LP even translated it into English for the international audience. The conclusion?

"Alexey Korf's new tonearm is a firework
of good ideas and a sonic masterpiece: the
cartridges used have hardly ever sounded
so direct, transparent and intense."

Thank you, LP: Magazin! The German-language reprint of the review is here.

The Norwegian Stereo+ magazine reviewed the TA-AF9, and had the following to say (translated from Norwegian):

"The Korf TA-AF9 is a brilliant tonearm. It plays like it belongs to a completely different class than its price. Whether it's the ceramic arm tube and headshell that are the main reasons for that is of little importance when the end result is what it is. So despite the fact that the tonearm has neither VTA adjustment on the fly, nor a removable headshell that some like, the mix of great sound and a nice price should be almost irresistible.

Five stars, specially recommended."

The whole article is only in Norwegian, but you can use Google Lens or other smartphone translation system to read it.

British The Ear magazine reviewed the TA-AF9 Series II tonearm in April 2026. Chris Beeching was impressed:

"If I was to try and sum up what the Korf TA-AF9 does in a few words I’d fail dismally. (...)

It has poise, an elegant but responsive ability to play anything the cartridge is presented with without fuss, with accuracy, with enjoyment, with an absolute ability to provide an amazingly robust, resilient and stable platform for the cartridge is undeniable.

But where the TA-AF9 really scores is that it consistently allows the music and the emotional content of the music to shine through. (...) the replay here is possibly the best I have come across in the context of my system. There is no noise and the arm has that uncanny ability to present you, the listener, with enviable musical performances in your home time after time after time.

Highly recommended."

What makes the TA-AF series special?
All Korf tonearms are a clean sheet rethink of what a tonearm should be. The TA-AF series takes our priorities to the max: quality of motion, rigidity, low energy storage, signal integrity, stability and longevity.

  • For the motion, we use aerospace-grade, zero stiction flexure bearings in the horizontal axis. For the vertical axis, we use full ceramic silicon nitride bearings. Nothing comes close for lower starting torque, and for the quietness too.
  • Korf Audio is the world's only maker of fully ceramic headshells. So it's only natural that we have extended the use of ceramics to the armtube too.
  • At the same mass, alumina ceramic arm tube is almost twice as strong as steel. This means it's 6x stronger than a similar aluminium tube, or 4x stronger than titanium one
  • We use "camera finished" brass parts for even more rigidity and precision
  • Even the wiring is improved: we use super lightweight (but 100% covering) copper shielding over Cardas Litz wires.
How does this benefit you? You will get everything Korf tonearms are known for: unmatched clarity, holographic imaging, real life dynamics, true tonality, sparkling highs and a really deep bass. Only more so. Expect to be drawn into music like never before. And don't be surprised if you find yourself rediscovering your albums all over again.
