Martha Argerich - Live from Amsterdam!
Especially live recordings of the incomparable Martha Argerich are fascinating documents of the incomparable musical sensitivity and electrifying virtuosity of this charismatic pianist, who has been at the top of the world for decades. For this reason, EMI Classics has been deliberately presenting more live recordings from the "Martha Argerich Project" of the Swiss Lugano Festival in addition to studio recordings since 2002.
The legendary early live documents of the artist from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw from 1978, 1979 and 1992 (previously available on single CDs) are now presented by EMI Classics for the first time collected in a 3CD box set: Star moments with piano concertos by Mozart and Beethoven as well as solo works by Bach, Scarlatti, Chopin, Schumann, Ravel, Prokofieff and Bartók.
